Who we are
Give Green Energy is a member-funded start-up designed to allow a large number of people, making small contributions each month, to work together to reduce the impacts of climate change. It is based on the simple idea that humanity can achieve amazing things if enough people work together to reach a common goal.
Ultimately, the company aims to use at least 90% of funds raised to develop clean energy projects, which will generate revenue through the sale of clean electricity. Rather than paying this revenue to shareholders or governments, the company will reinvest at least 90% into other clean energy initiatives. This will exponentially increase the impact of a $1 contribution over time
As the company grows, more and more funds can be used to pursue clean energy initiatives, generating more green energy and revenues. As exponential growth sets in, larger and larger impacts can be made on reducing climate change.
We plan to achieve this goal by carrying out the following plan:
Step 1: Grow the community to a critical mass
We are a small company, funded by small contributions, wanting to compete in an area dominated by large, multi-national energy companies. Step 1 is therefore to build our community as fast as possible to a critical mass of active subscribers. We expect this first step will take the longest, and hope that growth will be faster once we reach this critical milestone.
Step 2: Complete a pilot project
Once we have a large enough group of active subscribers, we plan to invest in an energy storage project which collects cheap, green energy during the day, and sells that energy at night. The fact that renewable energy, such as solar, is often not generated when it is needed most, such as in the early evening and night-time, is one of the biggest obstacles to the further expansion of renewable energy into the grid. Our first pilot project should demonstrate that it is possible to generate revenue in this way, which can be reinvested into even more green energy storage and generation projects.
Step 3: Repeat!
We will keep doing steps 1 and 2 until the world has an endless supply of cheap, green energy! As we grow larger, funds can be divided between building greater awareness of our project, continuing to grow our community, and building out more and more clean energy projects
